While I am not actively looking for more guns, I find that when a certain firearm comes along, I just have to buy it. I have a pretty fair collection of rifles and there are very few that pique my interest, but every once in a while.........
So, two weeks ago I walked into my local Evil Gun Store, and there was one of the guns that I have wanted for years and had never seen for sale.
Polytech AK47S. Colloquially known a "spiker" these were imported from about 1984 until 1989. The Bush ban killed import and there aren't that many running around on the loose.
Serial number starts with an 85 prefix meaning it was made in 1985.
Original Polytech magazine.
At the same time, this Daewoo K2, another pre Bush ban had come in from the same seller. I have always found these interesting as they combine elements of the AR, FAL and AK rifles. I thought about it overnight and went back the next day with some trading material and brought it home.
Now I am so broke that I can't even pay attention, but...........sure as heck the next week this milled post ban MAK90 came in. Still new in the box, it hadn't been fired since it was test fired at the factory when it was made in 1993. What could I do? As much as I hate breaking out the plastic, I picked it up too. I plan on debanning it and turning it into a Polytech Legend clone.
Fresh from the box without any cleaning.
No more guns for a while. At least that is what I am telling myself.
