Recoil spring # in 90's Colt Enhanced.38 super

This super throws brass about 15 feet to the right regardless of load.

What was the recoil spring poundage for the enhanced .38 super?

Factory rating is 14 pounds.

You can try something heavier like a 16 though.

I have a 9x23 that tossed cases into low Earth orbit until I discovered that the factory extractor had exactly zero tension. Once I tuned the extractor the ejection became much more civilized. You can also fit a square bottom firing pin stop. This will slow the slide more effectively than a stronger recoil spring. You can also replace your mainspring (hammer spring) with a stronger one. This will also be more effective than swapping recoil springs. Check out the Wolff site.
