My husband isn't happy with his horizontal shoulder holster. He's not wearing a suit jacket or sportscoat, just an overshirt and the concealment is simply inadequate. He can't carry his M&P9 in it at all and even my Taurus Slim prints behind his arm every time he reaches forward.

None of the local gun places carry any shoulder holsters so he's going to have to order online. Can you recommend some good options for him to evaluate?

What horizontal holster does your husband currently have? If it's a Galco, you can just buy a vertical holster and use the existing harness and magazine carrier. This will save you a fair amount of money.

If not, I would look at the Bianchi X15. You can get them used off ebay for $30-40, depending on condition. The X15 is a long-time, well respected design.

Good luck;

Its an inexpensive nylon holster from Ace Case that he bought to see if a shoulder holster suited him. Other than the printing he likes it (we've been happy with all our Ace Case products).

Money is an issue for us so I'll check out eBay as you suggested.

I carry a 4 5/8" Ruger Vaquero .357 in a vertical Sholder holster and it fills the bill perfectlly even with the big Hog Leg!
My holster is a replica 1878 Texas Sholder rig and it works as well today as it did back when...
I also have a modern Nylon Uncle Mikes horizontal sholder holster for my O/U Remington replica .38 Special Derringer. This one tucks the big Derringer away neatly and offers a fast draw!
You can get the vertical holster from a number of retailers and just make sure there is a belt loop to hold the holster during a draw.
Unless he specifies it, don't buy a holster with a belt across the chest. It just gives the whole rig away...

Something else to consider. 3KB, is how the holster is adjusted for height and angle. I have, for example, seen pictures of the holster hanging so low that it is almost at waist level. This isn't what you want. You need it as high up under your armpit as practicable.
