Never used Red Dot much before. Bought some to load 45 Colt and .308 light plinkers. Had a chance to buy an 8lb jug and with all the panic going on I couldn't help myself. I'm trying to balance out the paranoia by being a Democrat who hoards gun supplies in case.....

In any event, I loaded up 100 each of .45 ACP, 200 gr LSWC from Bear Creek and Precision (used the last of the Bear Creek) with 3.8, 3.9 and 4.0 grains, 1.24 OAL. I'm going ot load up some 124 gr LRN 9mm with the same charges. Will report results when the weather gets good enough to shoot.

I use Red Dot for cast slugs in .380, .357, 9 Makarov and 9 Para.
does good. Dot has more bulk than Bullseye and is cleaner burning as well.
I've found that altho it can be used for jacketed slugs other powders are preferable. but it really shines with cast slug loads.

Red Dot works fine in .45 ACP, in my opinion. I've not tried it in 9mm but I intend to when my supply of Unique runs out.

I've had decent results with Red Dot in .45ACP out of my 1911-A1 - although it's not one of my go-to powders for 200gr bullets. I've got some good loads for 230gr XTPs and Mag-Tech plated SWCs though.

Had a chance to shoot this afternoon. Took both the .45 and 9mm, but needed to get a sight replaced on my .45, so dropped it off at the smiths on the way out. Fopr some reason I did not take another .45 with me. Dumb!

The 3.8 and 3.9 did cylce the guns, and had almost no recoil. The 4.4 had more recoil, but very manageable in the all steel guns. Both my Les Baer PII and my CZ75BD liked the 4.1 and 4.2 about the best. Better groups, good recoil. I'm happy.

I've been shooting Universal Clays in 9mm for a while. Ran out. I will chrony these some time to get an idea about speed, but I'm really looking for a speed steel load, not trying to make a power factor. Have not had a chance to clean the guns to get an idea about how it was burning. Did not see any unburnt powder in the chambers.

I've been neglecting the CZ since I bought the Baer. I put f/o front sight and adjustable rear sight on it, and had BarSto fit a 5" barrel. It really shoots. I do not want to admit it, but it is at least as accurate as the Baer, maybe a bit better. And it only cost about $800 with all the upgrades, Yikes. I like the single action trigger better for gaming, so the Baer will play more.
