I bought the redding FL competition bushing dies, wondering what neck bushings everyone used for neck sizeing.

308 is bushings .335-.343 Which size do you use and w/ what brass?

223 is bushings .244-.252 Which size do you use and w/ what brass?

If you can, measure a similar (using the same brass and bullet) loaded round's O.D. of it's neck, and subtract 2-3 thousands of an inch, and thats your bushing size.

Bushings

For .308 Win I run the cases through a .339 bushing first, then for Lapua brass a .335 bushing. Some like a .336 for the Lapua. For Winchester brass, I use a .334 bushing, but some like more neck tension.

For .223 I use a .244 for Winchester brass and a .245 for Lake City military cases. I haven't done the two step procedure with these, yet, but it is supposed to reduce runout by sizing with no more than .05 increments at a time. Redding comp dies are some excellent pieces of equipment.
