Have a 5.5 blued Redhawk and Super Blackhawk. The Redhawk is a 1990 and the SBH is a 1987 born on date. Gonna take one to hunt Badger and Feral hogs this coming weekend.
Which would you chose

Feral Hogs sounds like a potentially dangerous situation, depending on the terrain and vegetation coverage. I have both a Redhawk and a Super Blackhawk. For longer shots the SBH trigger would be my preference, but for faster shooting I'd prefer the RH.

I will third the “ which ever one you shoot best” comments above.

Same barrel length, same caliber, very comparable on size and strength so the loads can be pretty much equal.

So, go with the one you can best keep on target at the ranges you intend to hunt.

Stay safe.

You didn’t say how you were going to hunt the badger or pigs, so I’ll offer what has been my experience and worked for me. And I have both RedHawks and Blackhawks.

If I were going to sit in a ground blind or small elevated platform, I’d go BH all day because I could have time to set up. For me, a single action just seems to point more intuitively and makes me think I’m more accurate in this scenario.

If I were moving about and stalking and needed to be ready to get the gun into action, I’d go Redhawk because I could fire single action or double action. YMMV.
