You are overthinking it. An 870 is not tightly fit enough for a park coating to affect function. No need to remove the shell latches for refinishing unless they're worn/damaged. Cerakote should be applied in thin coats. You do not need a high build to get a good finish. In fact it will be less durable. If you do decide to do it later over your park, be sure to thoroughly degrease. Better to do it over fresh park.

i kind of figured the parkerizing aspect could be done without having to remove the internal parts because i should be able to strip the old bluing easily using chemical blue removers.. i can degrease by soaking in acetone, and since parkerizing is a dip in a tank it should get every nook and crannie.. thats why i wanted to parkerize it first to make sure EVERYTHING gets protected

but if i wanted to cerakote the inside on top of that, then those parts would likely need to removed first.. so its a matter if i want to cerekote the inside or not (probably not)

isnt the ejector or ejector spring another MIM part though?.. ill be removing and replacing every MIM part

hmm, the way im looking at it now, is if i slow rust blue it and for any reason i do not find the finish to be durable enough or its too much a pain in the ass to maintain, i could easily strip the bluing and parkerize/cerakote... however if i were to cerakote first and decided i didnt like it for whatever reason it would be a real PITA to remove for bluing.. so i should try bluing it first and see how i like that.. makes sense right?.. and no, i dont want to send it in for a hot bluing, or sell it for a wingmaster, i specifically want to try out the slow rust bluing process myself, and i think it yields a better result than hot bluing anyway
