Hi All,

Trying to start a project this weekend of refinishing the wood furniture on my WASR 10 AK 47. I have been able to remove the butt stock and upper foregrip, but I am at a loss on the lower foregrip. I have watched numerous youtube videos on how to remove this, but there seems to be an issue with mine.

The small lever that is supposed to be flipped 180 degrees, only turns about 95 degrees for me and then stops. If I try to force it any further, the lever starts to bend so i stopped.

A friend of mine who has the same rifle said that the lever on his only turned about 90 degrees for him, but that was all it needed and he was able to lightly tap the foregrip cap off. I have been tapping/wailing on this for an hour and the damn thing will not budge. Anybody have similar issues when trying to remove this? any tips?
