Hello,

I would like to refinish my old Marlin Glenfield 60 but I have one problem, there is some nice etching by the pistol grip and I know that sanding would in all probability ruin that. Is there a stripper that would just remove the old finish and not harm the etching?

This may sound like an odd question but I am new to this and I would like to be advised by people who have experience.

This is the rifle I am working on. I have ordered all new springs for the internal mechanisms and I also want to redo the finish because of the dings.

You can ion out the dings to help cut down on the sanding. Take a wet rag and put it over the ding and put our hot iron on the wet rag, it will pull the ding up.

Hi,

After the application of a chemical stripper, I use a medium tooth brush and brush with the lines. I normally have success after performing this about 3 times.

Be carefull with what you use. That design is just pressed into the wood and if you raise it it won't look very good.
