Ladies and Gentlemen,

I just loaded some Hornady 3037's (150 gr FMJBTs) in .308 Win cases. According to some of the reviews on Midway, the cannelure is set correctly for .308 win, and too high for .30-06. Well, using the load data from Hornady's No 7 manual, I found the exact opposite to be true.

I used a COL of 2.780, and the cannelure was .030" out of the case. For the .30-06 cases its perfect. What gives? My load's COL is safe, right?

Thanks for the help.

It should be safe as long as they will fit in the magazine, unless you are already loading a max load at that recommended OAL.

What rifle are you loading for.
What powder & charge weight?

If it's an M1A1, just seat to the cannelure and crimp them.
