Want to do some reloading for my 91/30 Mosin Nagant and my Finn M39. Does any one have this info?

I have a pretty good amount of Accurate 2700 and one of the slower burning Hodgon powders and a supply of 150 grain psp Speer spitzers. My old Speer reloading book totally ignores the round

Hodgdon seems to be the only one that has data for the 7.62x54R round, from what i could find 'on the web'. Alliant & Accurate powder websites do not list the x54; checking a couple of others.

Hmmmm seems like Hodgdon now also owns Winchester powders.

Lymans has some as well, but not much. I think they have 1 flat base 150gr bullet IIRC in their manual. I don't know if it is the same as your Speer bullet.

I don't recall accurate powders in the Lyman manual though.

i use h4350 in mine, 54grns under a 180. havent tried anything lighter then 165s. loaddata.com has a listing for accurate powders..as well as a number of others.

i could only find a little data for 2700 and its from lee for 180+

Hornady, Lyman, Lee, and Sierra all include x54r data in their manuals.

Sierra loads are listed with .308dia Sierra bullets.
Lee calls out .310 nominal, but doesn't give specifics on bullets used.
Lyman gives diameters, both .311 and .312, and tells you what bullet used. Also include some lead info.
Hornady lists both .308 and .312 diameter loads.

Thanks for the info; I was hoping someone had worked up some data and had some specific recommendations. I don't want to have to buy another useless reloading manual just for this rifle.

Maybe It would be a good Idea to buy some brass with non-Berdan primer pockets and use the powder charge from the military round in the reloads since there is only a 3 grain difference in the bullet weight- 147 vs 150)? The Speer bullets are for the 303. I have a lot of Russian surplus ammo and a lee loader coming shortly.

I'll give some recipies I have used in competition. Results may vary in your rifles. You will of course want to begin with published starting loads, and work your way up. Safety first.
