I'm thinking about expanding into reloading shotshells. Is Lyman #5 a good manual to get? Any others? I know stuff is hard to get right now, but when the shortage is over I want to gear up for shotshells. Thanks

The Lyman is probably the best all around how to guide for the process and components. A lot of the powders have changed but online data can fill in the holes.

The Lyman manual is probably the best for the basic how to. Find a shotgun club and ask around to see if you can find a person that reloads to see if the might let you watch them load ammo or even let you do some yourself. The problem right now is finding primers and powder. I have quite a stockpile and I have limited my skeet shooting, but it won't last forever. I used to shoot 25,000 rounds of shotshells a year back in the 90's, so that is about what I keep on hand for components even though it's only a few thousand a year now.

I have the Lyman #5 manual. I have been reloading center fire cartridges for years and am planning to start reloading shotshell loads. It has good information on step by step reloading for shotshells.

Lyman #5 is a very good manual, as is "Advantages" from Ballistic Products. Both have data as well as "hows and whys" of reloading.

A printed book or manual on handloading is a must for any one starting out in the craft. Not only for its “instructional” information but it’s just handy to have a quick reference or information in print in front of you while loading.
Years ago when many such as my self started out in shot shell or Metallic loading manuals like Lyman’s were the only way to learn the craft. Other than knowing other people involved, which I didn’t.

Internet,IMO, is an invaluable tool but doesn’t replace the printed word.
And while the Lyman is considered by many, my self included, the Bible of hand loading I’ve made a habit of keeping a variety of different publishers manuals on hand.
