Reloder 15

Has anyone a reloading source for using Alliant Reloder 15 powder with a 165 grain .308 bullet. I've gone thru all my manuals and it simply isn't in any of them. And I looked in Alliant's page but couldn't find it there either. Where else might it be?

Go back to their website. It's listed as a Sierra 165 gr spitzer. 45.5 grains max IIRC. Took me maybe 30 seconds to find it.

There are many loads for .308 bullets and RE 15, but I take it as you are wanting a RE15 load for a rifle chambered for .308 Winchester, here is a load from Aliant for 165gr Sierra Spitzer Federal 210 primer Federal brass OAL2.7" out of a 24" bbl 45.5gr @2,780fps @57,000 psi.

NOTE THIS IS A MAX LOAD AND SHOULD BE REDUCED BY 10% FOR STARTING LOAD!

Know this isn't for the 165 bullet, but I'm currently using RE 15 in my 40X. Info as follows:

Rifle: 40X Rremington w/ Hart 27" SS 1-10" twist barrel

Case: Federal
Primer: Winchester WLR
Bullet: 168 gr Sierra HPBT Match
Powder: 42.0 gr RE 15

After trying a LOT of powder/primer/case combos, this rifle LOVES that load, and will shoot 32mm 5-shot groups at 300 meters. Smallest 10-shot group was 42mm.

in the 308 win the Sierra manual list 42gr as the most accurate load in 165 and 168gr bullets.

I've got the Lee, the Lyman and the Metalic Loading Manual by Anderson, but I haven't got the Sierra. However, you can bet the farm that I'll have it the next time I go over to the reloading store.

Get the little free manuals that the powder mfg's give out. Bet it's in there.
