i want the new sendero sf II in .308 win.

but they don't seem to want to make one in that caliber. apparently, they start at 7mm or 300win mag and go up from there.

a potential alternative would be the vssf II but that is all 22 caliber stuff and lower and they don't go up past 22-250 in power.

in other words, i have to go to the police models to get a decent gun in 308. the LTR seems like a pretty sweet rifle and i've got nothing against tacticool stuff, for sure.

but... the LTR comes in a 1/12 twist, and i want a 1/10 twist to spin a 190g mk. i'd just as soon not rebarrel a brand new rifle.

mr jones wants to be someone just a little more funky

anybody shot more than one of these? any opinions/thoughts?
any opinions on vssf vs vssf II or sendero vs sendero II?

thx

Hello from Tennessee. My thoughts on a rifle will be shaded by my
intended use of the rifle. I have cows; and need something in the
truck and on the 4 wheeler. When I carry my Sendero 22-250 around;
I wish I had left it at home. Too heavy. I recently got a 700 LVSF
in 22-250. This is light, has a good stock with the R-3 pad, and seems
perfect for my use.
I think there are some 308 700 LVSF rifles out now.

Anyone know why they don't make the Sendero in .30-06? I wrote to Remington a few years ago and asked them, but I never heard from anyone. I would have thought it to be a primary caliber for such a rifle.
