My PSS rarely, but repeatably, jams up while I am loading it. I wanna know if anyone else has encountered an issue like this, and of course what I should try to do about it.

Basically, cartridges in the left position (#2 or 4 when loading) can go a tad left of where they should be, and get stuck between the top of the magazine body and the bottom edge of the ejection/loading port in the receiver. Pushing forward bumps into the locking lug cutout, so won't feed and so on. I invariably have to dump the floorplate and start over.

Related, possibly: I have noticed that the mag body seems to be a rather cheap piece of sheet metal. There are lots of replacement floorplate/trigger guards, but no mag bodies without going to the proably needless extreme of a removable mag.

Mabey there is too much room in the stock where the mag sits allowing it to flex or shift to the left.
Could you try some kind of shim (temporary) between the mag body and the cutout in the stock.

Hmm. All good thoughts, which I will try. As far as shifting, I kinda doubt it, because it seems to fit very tightly into the bottom of the receiver tube even with the stock off.

A friend who induced one claimed that it was binding on the bolt, but I don't believe that really. However, I had never checked to see if certain rounds are more likely to induce a jam. All are factory. I am just now cleaning those to start think about loading my own, so none should be odd sizes.

Sorta glad to see its happened to someone else, just so I know I am not insane or something.

At this point I would say contact Remington customer service.

This is a problem with the design or its execution, the internal magazine on a bolt action 700 especially a more expensive model like the PSS which has a HS-precision stock and costs like $8-900 should work correctly.

I would be quite annoyed If this was my gun.

(corrected stock type)
