Smoker expelled from pub returns with gun

A customer who was asked to leave a pub returned wearing a balaclava and armed with a gun which he pointed at the chef.

The man had been told to leave because he was smoking in a non-smoking restaurant area. He returned an hour later carrying a pistol and sneaked into the pub kitchen.

Dane Turner, 28, the chef at the pub, said: "I was in the walk-in fridge and turned round to see a man in a balaclava pointing a gun at me - about two metres away.

"I said: 'Is this a joke?' But he said: 'This is no joke.'"

Mr Turner, who has worked at the Brook House Farm pub in Swindon, Wilts, for four months, said the man blocked his way out.

"I spun him round against the wall, grabbed his arm and then pinned him to the floor. Then three other people came in and sat on him until the police arrived."

Police arrested a man on firearms offences. He was being questioned yesterday.

I agree the chef was lucky. He had to cover two meters to get to the gunman. Don't know if smoking was the reason for the gunman to come back through the kitchen.

This story illustrates that a gun isn't the Magic Power Talisman (TM) that this BG and the gun-grabbers think it is. Kudos to Dane Turner for fighting the man, not the weapon.

But wait, there must be some kind of mistake.

Handguns are illegal in England, so there's no possible way this person could have a handgun; therefore this story never happened.

Right?
