I have a Remington model 31 16-gauge that was passed along to me - unfortunately it's all in pieces in a box! Some parts may be broken as well (extractor looks to be broken).

Any links or info on where I can find some detailed assembly/disassembly instructions, as well as ideas where I might find parts for it? It's somewhat of a family heirloom, so I'd like to return it to at least "working" order, if not shooting order.

Thanks!

IMHO the model 31 was the best pump shotgun ever made. It deserves to be restored as much as you can. As preacherman said parts ARE still available . A 60-70% gun in standard grade is worth $300. 90% guns get near $500.

Hmmm, I don't see the Remington 31 listed on their list of schematics that can be purchased. I do see that they have parts listed, though. I'll have to contact them - there's no way I'll get this thing together without some sort of instructions. :)

Thanks! I got the first two pages so far, looks like once I have all 10, it'll be just the info I've needed!

Just looked at the receiver again, serial number is 5083XX. I'm gonna have to search the basement - the parts were in two boxes, and I only seem to have one - the other is apparently buried somewhere. The bluing is almost completely gone off the receiver, with some minor rust spots here and there. Doesn't appear to be any pitting. Stock wood looks quality, but the finish is peeling off one side.

Looks like I have some work ahead of me, if I can get all the parts together!
