I shot Remington's .357 magnum Golden Saber's (125 gr) the other day out of my 4" model 66 and it was great. Recoil not bad at all, which is what I was looking for, more recoil than any .38+P, but not by much. I know its not the best performing .357 round out there, but it sure beats the heck out of any .38 round. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a light-kicking .357 round.

I also shot Federal's .38 special (110 gr), and it actually kicks pretty much equal with most +P ammo I shot. Its only loaded to regular powder levels, but it sure has some punch to it, especially in my Airlite snub. I don't have a chronograph, but based on the amount of recoil I'd guess that it performs like it says on the box (1000/244 w/ a 4" barrel). The above federal load seems solid, but I think I may just carry the Gold Dot 125 grain (old +P load) instead because GD has a better rep, its +P, and recoil is about the same.

Sorry, I wasn't too clear.

I'm sticking with the Golden Saber .357 for my 66, and the .38 +P is for my 342.
