Remington 572 ejector

I inherited a 1955 model fieldmaster that does not have an ejector. I ordered one from Brownells that supposedly is a remington ejector. It does not fit the slot. Do I need to file the slot wider or do I need to find a gun smith? Or possibly it is the incorrect ejector? I called both Remington and Brownells and they were of no help at all in fact I don't think they even knew what a 572 was.

I'd say try to get your hands on another, it's a cheaper method before going the gunsmith route
