I currently have the remington 597 in 17hmr ls hb, and received a recall notice a couple days ago saying that I should return the gun for a $250 coupon to purchase a new remington firearm.(they're so nice)
This is about half of what i paid for the gun two years ago.
My question is. Does anyone have any insight about the possibility of this firearm becoming a collector's item, or just a piece of metal and wood?
I've seen people post on other forums saying that they may hang on to theirs for this reason and don't know if this is the route I should take or if i should just eat my loss and get a new gun.
thanks for the help
