Remington 597 Tech Sights + Bull Barrel

I just bought a Remington 597 with a bull barrel. However I want to put Tech Sights on it. Given it is a bull barrel, it doesn't have pre-drilled holes on the barrel for iron sights.

I believe it will work since I am going to have the end of the barrel drill and tapped for one 6-48 screw and have a gunsmith put the front sight on since this is very crucial that it be done accurately.

Anyone have any experience with this? Can't seem to find any info on this online.
