I have a remington 700vls varmit thumbhole stock 204 ruger the new 2007 model I also have it in 22-250 looking at the same model in 223 and the new ruger 223 with laminate stock with the adjustable barrel tip both retail for about 825.00. anyone know any pros or cons on either and any ideas on any other 223 rifles thanks:)

All I can tell you is when I decided on getting a .223, I went from the Rem 700 VLS to the Ruger Target Grey then finally settled on the Savage 12VLP. I wanted a stainless gun with a heavy barrel, and all the reading I did left me with the impression that Savage is the most accurate out of the box. Nothing wrong with the Rem or Ruger, but the Savage fit my budget better (btw, check Bud's Gun Shop for prices). I pick it up a week from tomorrow and I'll post my range findings here once I've shot it.

a guy i know said he would rather see me buy a DPMS than the laminate mini 14 even though it is a little higher priced just for the fact of resale on the mini 14 he said it is an accurate rifle but it isnt that accurate compared to alot of other guns i am a ruger man all the way but in your case i would buy the rem

I second the idea of getting an AR over a Mini 14.

........ <----extra punctuation for S&WKing to use next time, since he is out of his own. ;)

Well thanks for all your tips i went in a different direction on a whim and I hope I made a good choice, I bought a Sabre M4 flat top 223 carbine so the next question is any pros and cons thanks
