Remington 788 mags

Hi. I bought a 788 in .243 last Saturday. I am now looking to buy another mag. Does anyone know if I can use a 223 mag in my 243? The 223 mags seem to be more available and inexpensive. Thanks. AZhunter

I think the magazines are cartridge specific.

Any of the ones marked .243;7mm-08 or .308 will work in your .243 I don't know why they mark these as being for a specific caliber when they are all on the same parent case. The .223 ones will not work because of the differances in cartridge width. I use .243 marked ones in my .308 all the time.
