Hey Guys,
I just ordered the 870 super mag waterfowl camo 12 ga. with 28" barrel. I plan to use this for ducks and geese mainly however would like to shoot the smaller upland game like doves and quail with it too.

It comes with the "over-decoys" choke tube. My question is what exactly is this choke (I think its a modified choke for steel shot and Improved for lead???

What other chokes will I need for the smaller game?

This is the link to what I ordered:

that one would work just fine but if want to invest in a full choke for longer yardage and an improved to cover all your bases.

Most, if not all full chokes are not recommended for steel shot. The modified tube in most guns is as tight as you want to go with steel shot. In many cases you could damage the tube or barrel shooting steel through full tubes.

Steel patterns tighter and you usually get patterns about 1 size tighter when using it. I do most of my waterfowl shooting with an IC tube. It really is giving me modified patterns and use modified tubes when birds are flyiing high. This is with standard factory tubes, there are some aftermarket tubes designed specifially for steel that are labeled a little differently.

The "Over Decoys" tube is probably just IC, or something very close.
