Greetings. My wood stock 870P has a LOP of 14" I believe, measuring from the rearward curve of the trigger to the end of the buttstock. Is there anyone who could decrease / cut down the LOP without messing up the beautiful wood, or would I need to get another stock?

If I need a new stock, any suggestions on a good price / online vendor?

You could have the recoil pad that most 870's have taken off and replaced with a solid but plate installed at minimal cost. That would reduce the pull maybe 1/2" to 1". If you are reducing the length for a young shooter that will grow back into the full length later it would be better to get an inexpensive replacement stock and have it cut to length. As the length needs to be increased, spacers can be added for intermediate lengths.

Have it PROFESSIONALLY cut by a good smith, one who could actually put a little drop and offset that fits you best and grinds the pad attractively following the existing stock line. Allowing for the Limbsaver or Kickeze pad if you are 5'8" to about 6'4" a 13" LOP works well for CQB uses without real heavy clothing or body armor. Much less than 13" gets pretty specialised . The labor on a cast off and flared pad job is usually $50 plus the pad which is around $30 or less. Ask to see the smith's work, and share what I said.;)
