I've had a 1917 Remington Mosin Nagant hanging in the toy room for years, took it out today for the first time. I have the classic can't see the sights middle age curse, have had to back off shooting my 98, 98k, MKIII, Type 99s, 03 and Mod 44 because I can't see both the sights and the targets. But, we sure had that old lady hot. Recoil was moderate using several types of milsurp ammo, trigger pull was loooooong, really had to work the bolt hard but it always chambered and extracted. Really fun to shoot the old war horse. I also brought a 1944 98k but had the same problems with sights. Made a lot of noise though.

That's a cool rifle  . Can you show a picture :D ?

BTW, beware that most surplus 7.62x54r ammo is corrosive, so you gotta use windex first, then do your normal cleaning.
