I have my grandfather's Remington Model 14 pump .32 Rem rifle - along with some ammo that was undoubtedly his. My Dad (now long gone) and I shot a lot when I was a kid and I never remember taking this out. I'm confident it hasn't been shot in the last 40 years - at least.

Are folks still shooting these? It's in fine shape. I'm not worried about hurting $ value by shooting it. (And it doesn't sound like they're particularly valuable.) I have it for nostalgic reasons and I'd like to use it.

From a little research I've done it sounds like ammo is hard to come by. Are there ammo sources? Can ammo be found at gun shows or online?

Lastly - I'm assuming using ammo from the '40s is likely not a problem. The ammo looks in good shape - other than just old. It's been stored in a dry basement for many years and it seems to have held up very well.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Great rifles and much sought after by those who appreciate them. Ammunition is available, but is relatively expensive but easily reloaded.
The .32 Remington is a rimless eqiuivalent of the .32 Special.
That's a wonderful hand-me-down from Grandpa!

Those cartridges should be fine. Save the brass!

Thanks for the info. Just got back from the range. It's very fun to shoot. :) It packs a bit of a punch.

There a good many of the 35 Remington versions of the Model 14 & 141 still out there being used, but 35 Remington is widely available in most stores with a wide selection of hunting cartridges. The 14 & 141 is an awesome find.
