Remington RR 00 Buck Range Report

Went to pattern my 870P today, with Remington's Reduced Recoil 8 Pellet 00 Buckshot. I have an 18.5" cylinder bore barrel. (I was disappointed with the size of the patterns, I have a few cases of Federal Tactical 00 with Flitecontrol coming in the mail, so this post will be updated next week after I test that)



10' range, about 3" around (the wad tore a larger hole than all the shot together):



25' range, where it made a 7" pattern:



50' range(max where I was shooting), with a 14" pattern:



Here's how I did with 1 oz Low Recoil slugs, at 50' (max at the range) shooting as fast as possible (Note that the perfectly round holes are from the slugs, the oddly shaped tears are from the wad ripping through the target at strange locations):

Did you want them bigger or smaller? For SD work, those look pretty good to me. 50' and still getting all of the pellets COM.

Um, yeah, that actually should serve quite well IMO.

It's not bad, but I've seen the Federal 00 loads shoot 4-5" patterns at 75 feet. It made me jealous.

Dude, if you're getting patterns like that at the distances you posted, AND your POA/POI are matching up with slugs AND 00 buck?

Those loads in that gun will make 95 percent of serious shotgunners jealous.
