I've got... well, a decent amount of this stuff. It's the clasic green and white box with "223 REMINGTON" "55GR. MC L223R3" that you can find at Wal-Mart on a really good day. It's new-production non-reloaded stuff, brass-cased, but...
... the primers worry me. The headstamp for every case is the same, "R - P 223 REM", but the primers differ from cartridge to cartridge within the same box. It's not much... in fact, I had to look a second time, but some are definately silvery while the majority match the brass. I know, it's just color... but still, if there's this kind of inconsistency from Remington, who knows what else might be wrong... right?
Neither my Serbian PPU ammo, or my Aguila have this issue. Granted, the Aguila's got problems of its own with loosening bullets on occasion, but that's another story.
Am I just being paranoid, or what?
