Removing welded muzzle nut on WASR AK...?

Now that the ban has been over for a while has anyone removed a welded muzzle nut from a wasr or sar1? I know it can be done on the wasr2s by just replacing the gas block.... Anyone try it on a wasr1? Trying to make my cheap ak a little more tacticool!!!

I used a dremel and cut just a liiiiiittle at a time. Just don't cut into anything else.
