Last year I bought a used W. German P220 that I'm trying to fix up a bit.
Strangely enough, the takedown lever is a different type. Its colored silver instead of black, and protrudes slightly on the right side of the gun (the decocker and slide catch are black as normal). Other than that, it functions perfectly and the gun works fine. I was wondering how easy it would be to remove the takedown lever and replace it with a new one, considering I have no experience taking apart the gun other than a simple field strip.

If it is easily doable I can buy a new lever from top gun supply http://www.topgunsupply.com/product.php?productid=822

Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

It's very easy and takes a matter of seconds. Pull it out while turning. Search on sigforum for exact details.

There is a little wire spring that retains it, with the slide off, rotate the takedown lever around towards the top of the slide and pull it outwards, it will pop right out.
This is also the first step towards taking apart the feedramp and etc. for a good cleaning.

That's right. Field strip the pistol, like you would for cleaning. Then push on the end, of the lever, with your finger, while turning it counter clockwise. It will pull right out. Installation is much the same. Start the lever in the hole, and while turning it counter clockwise, just push it in.
