RFC Ottawa/FED UP Canada Protecting Canadian Freedoms
........................................................

Dear Firearms Owner, July 5, 2003

Did you notice that Gun Registration Day was implemented on Canada Day to wipe the former from negative media coverage?

Now that the dust has settled, this may be an opportune time to write a letter to many newspapers and your Member of Parliament, to express your thoughts and feelings.

My MP is Marlene Catterall, Ottawa West-Nepean, Liberal Party Whip.

I have included my contribution to our common cause. Feel free to use it as a guide for your letter and as a source of information.

Sincerely,
Al Dorans

Letter to the Editor

"The Greatest Act of Civil Disobedience in Canada"

Just in case you missed it, millions of Canadians did not take special pride in Canada Day.

A black mark in Canadian history was strategically squeezed from the front pages of media coverage, due to Canada Day celebrations and Vancouver's Olympic bid.

On July 1, Bill C-68: The Firearms Act went into effect, discriminating against the statistically safest citizens in Canada. Millions of innocent gun owners became instant criminals for doing absolutely nothing.

There are 7 million gun owners and 21 million firearms in Canada, according to reliable surveys. When rates of gun owner compliance with licensing and registration were abysmal, Department of Justice bureaucrats conjured up a flawed telephone survey that deliberately deflated those actual numbers.

For years, gun owners had been instructed in Canada Firearms Safety Course manuals, not to reveal to strangers on the phone, if they were firearms owners. Nor were they to divulge the types of guns they possessed. That would invite theft and home invasions.

Subsequently, DOJ officials contradicted their own written advice and conducted such a fraudulent telephone survey. Not surprisingly, they claimed a reduced total of 2.38 million gun owners and 6 million firearms. Thus anti gun forces could now boast inflated levels of success, where none really existed.

Mathematically-challenged Justice Minister Wayne Easter touted 90% compliance. CTV falsely reported 90%. The Coalition for Gun Control crowed about 80%.

In truth, 1.9M already licensed gun owners out of 7M represent only 25% compliance. The error rate in licensing forms is 71% (Breitkreuz).

In truth, 7.9M already registered firearms out of 21M represent only 34% compliance. The error rate in gun registration forms is 132% (Breitkreuz).

Understandably, such major non-compliance and gross error rates make the gun registry unreliable and useless to police.

The same fraud artists who lied to Canadians that the multi billion dollar boondoggle would cost Canadian taxpayers only $2M have returned to deceive them, again.

Eight Canadian provinces and 3 territories oppose this unjust law.

Summarily, C-68 should be scrapped. Auditor General Sheila Fraser should conduct a full economic impact study of C-68's costs. Crooked politicians and dishonest anti gun bureaucrats should be dismissed from office. Highly politicized awards to anti gun special interest groups should be revoked.
