I have a new 206, under $150, it shoots fine,, I like the rubber grips they included for free, though still shoot it with the wood grips.. IN some reviews I saw it compared to the Detective, as in roughly the same size and configuration etc. I’ve never held the Colt so I don’t know...However the 206 does everything I want it too.
they say the 206 hammer bites the web of your hand,,, mine doesn’t....did the Detective bite?

Can’t see a reason to pay 3 to 4 times as much,,, unless I just want braggin’ rights.

A RIA revolver is obviously no Colt but if it checks off all your boxes it's good to go. Too many people get caught up in comparing budget friendly guns to top of the heap classics. I say shoot what makes you happy. Hell I can afford Colts but have none. I have a dozen Smiths, but guess what is my constant companion? A Taurus 85UL.

I have a 206. My complaint is light primer strikes with CCI primers and a lot of factory ammo.
It isn't a DS.
That being said, I bought it for when I'm out brush hogging. It carries well, is accurate and doesn't misfire if you're picky about feeding it.

Years ago I drove an old Chevy Cavalier, I went from that to an Acura RL.
Both had room for the kids, and got me where I was going. One just did it in a more refined way.
Once you have one, the other just seems lacking.

Good for you, I just looked up the model and it looks pretty nice. There is a big difference between this and a classic DS though in quality and workmanship.
