Rifle suggestions, please

I've bought a lot of scopes to put on rifles, now I need a rifle to add to a scope. I've ended up with scope that I don't have anything to put on. I had it on a DSA Fal I gave my son for Christmas, since he can still see he wasn't interested in the scope. All I hunt with s a Marlin 336 30-30, this is not designed for it. Milsurps aren't out of the question but an M1A is. This might be an excuse to get a new gun in .308. These are the specifics, I copied it:

depending on your budget... you can't go wrong with a rem700 vss or pss

I'm thinking about a bolt action, unless I clear out the toy room there won't be anymore $1,000 plus guns. I've never been into long range shooting, I'd like to get something that the scope would parallel in potential performance. I'd like to find a bubbaized 03/03A3 and go from there. I've got a mixmaster Garand, an 03 and a couple of 03A3s but they are in militart configuration and I won't mess with them.
