I was looking at getting a rifled choke tube for my MP-153 to give a bit more accuracy with slugs. When I go to pattern the gun, I'll grab a box or two to see how they do with the IC choke, but I was wanting to ask where a good place to get them is, and how well they work, vs smoothbore or rifled barrels(which isn't on the list, if I get a dedicated slug gun, I'll buy another shotgun).

Not quite apples to apples, but my two slug shooters with the same slug run about 1" tighter at 50 yards when the one with Remchokes has the rifled tube in. The same barrel with an IC throws them 1-2" bigger. YMMV.

With Forster style slugs or Brenekkes, I think the rifled tube is worth it.

I wonder what LuckyinKentucky gets. Seriously, I have never used one. I find a IC or modified choke sufficiently accurate with slugs for deer and black bears. But then again, I rarel shoot the past 70 yards.

In my 870 the difference is only slightly better with the rifled tube than the IC tube. If I didn't already have it, I wouldn't bother. I traded a fixed choke IC (rifle-sighted) barrel even up for the threaded barrel and gained almost nothing, maybe an inch tighter at 75 yards.

Where To Purchase Rifled Choke Tubes

This is where you can purchase the rifled choke tube for the mp 153.
