Just got the call from His Daughter, Roxanne, about the passing of James Strong("senior" on THR),:(
I have traded with Jim in the past+he was a very nice man. Please remember him in your prayers. Bill.

I can't believe how much this stings. I have made a total of 5 trades with him plus 2 that were bought outright.

when we would meet up we would just sit in this buick? and just talk about guns for a while, often longer.

Always liked him and had a lot of respect from him. I have 2 guns of his still that now will never leave my possession due to this unfortunate event.

I always spoke well about him to my fiancee and she said "You should invite him over for dinner". Boy i wish i would have done that now. I had a lot of respect for him.

RIP and shoot straight.

How appropriate that in his last post he says 'I'm an old man now'. He seemed like a man who felt content with the life he lead. Would that we all leave this life feeling the same way.

He and his family will be in my prayers.

If anyone know's his family, and IF they are willing to let a shooting buddy attend, i would really like to pay my respects.

Im still shocked by this. He was so much fun to talk to and deal with.

RIP Senior and God be with your Family!

I searched his last post....

My Dad, he was a vet of WW 11 and also raised like sgt. York, hillbilly through and through! I'm an old man now (mid 70s) but still can hear pop's telling me, "make sure of ur shot and whats behind...

How befitting to be discussing his father and his age as Materdei stated.....I hope I am that content in the end!

No Person is truly dead until the last person forgets to remember them.

He will always be on The High Road!

I am sorry to hear of his loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Rest In Peace

You will be missed

Over the years we loose some members. Its not a secret that we have a huge amount of older folks here as well as people that go through trajeties in life. We should almost have a sticky at the top with the names of the people we have lost. In thier memory.

^^^+1 To the Mods--Would it be possible to have a Members Memorial Wall, for our lost ones?? Jim sure as heck is one who would deserve it..Bill.

Well, I had not heard from my friend Jim in a while. I log on and look around occasionally, but hadn't seen a post from him in a while; just figured that I'd missed him.

When I did a search and saw how long ago his last post was, I feared the worst...then I found this thread.

I met Jim about a year ago. After we met, we stayed in touch via The High Road and email. He kidded me about my middle name and I tried to teach him how to upload a photo. I asked his opinion of various things and he was always helpful, friendly, and full of life.

So sad to hear he's gone. We're the poorer for it.

RIP Jim, and thanks for the memories.

I think about him almost daily as i pass the parking lot we always met at to trade/buy/sell guns to each other.

I have 2 guns i got from him and they will stay with me. He was a good guy and always a blast to talk to.

JOe

Wow this is indeed sad. RIP And never be forgotten. I agree with a need for a memorial wall here. I think that this would be a great tribute to those that have helped the rest of us so much here.
