Hello y'all, I'm new to the forum please steer me in the right direction if I get off track with anything.

A friend of mine has recently acquired a Riverside arms exposed hammer double barrel with the patent date of Feb 20 1914.
I've completely dissasembled cleaned reblued and reassembled the whole gun
The action works flawlessly each time the hammers are depressed.
But heres the problem, while trying to shoot live rounds the firing pins do not strike the primer hard enough for the shell to fire -light strike- sometimes it may fire on the first try, sometimes the fourth or not at all.
The firing pins are in good shape,
The mainsprings do not feel weak at all but I do not have anything to compare them too.
So my question is do you think this just of a case of an old obselete gun vs new modern ammo
Or
A weakend mainspring?
Thanks for any input
BTW I've read this gun was the same as a Stevens 215 and a Savage 215
