I bought a bunch of 64gr SP from RMR a little while ago. Finally go around to loading some up and getting to the range. First up, H335, 23.5gr, 2573fps avg. 24gr avg 2590, not much of a pick up. 24.5gr avg 2633fps. 25gr (max), 2682fps. The 25gr load produced the most accurate shot, (only did 5 of each). Next, TAC, 24gr avg 2675fps, (I had three errors on the next three shots, so only averaged two). 24.5gr avg 2775fps. 25gr avg 2791fps. 25.5 avg 2858fps. 26gr avg 2859, not much of a pick up, don't know why. My most accurate round seemed to be 24.5gr. All where loaded @ 2.250". Pretty big difference in speeds between TAC and H335. I have used H335 before on 55gr FMJ and VMax, worked fine, don't know if it's not as good on heavier bullets. TAC is pretty new to me, so far I'm liking it. I'll probably load some more, centering on 24.5gr, go a half grain each side of it, 10 each, re-shoot and double check the accuracy. Definitely plan on stashing a bunch.

From a Ramshot burn chart.

96. Accurate 2460
97. Hodgdon H335
98. Ramshot TAC
99. Hodgdon H4895
100. Accurate

Of course just because they are side by side doesn't mean they are close, but I have always considered them to be fairly similar.

First up, H335,.....25gr (max), 2682fps. .........Next, TAC, ....... 25gr avg 2791fps.

Makes TAC look a tad faster with that bullet, but TAC gets touted as being good for heavy bullets in .223 more than H335 does. Interesting.

I like both powders, and could be happy with either for .223.

This was interesting for me. I use both Tac and H-335 for my .223 loads. I use Tac in loads with 62 gr and up bullets and H-335 for the 55gr loads. My loads are 55 gr to 69 gr. My AR has a 20" with 1:9 twist barrel so this bracket works OK for me.

Things just seemed to work good that way. I don't have a chrno so I have no numbers to put in here.

I did try both powders with all the bullet weights (that I use) and just landed at my current loads. Nothing scientific about it...just shooting.

I'm not that good of a shot. I could use just one powder and be as well off. No one would notice.

I've loaded a few 55gr loads using H335. Everglades Ammo fmj, VMax, they've worked fine. I guess H335 doesn't work as well for the heavier stuff. Now I know!
