Well I debated on if I should post this in legal or in here and decided on in here. Any legal questions my trip arises will have an effect on my strategies and tactics used on this road trip I figure.

Here is my road trip map that I will be using. http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTE...rt collins colorado&q2=west orange new jersey Any "short cuts" would be appreciated, but it's a pretty straight line, so I don't see how there could be one.

I will be traveling with one handgun and one rifle. The only 2 states that honor my CCW once I leave CO that I will be passing thru are IN and PA, so the rifle and handgun will both be locked in cases in the back of my vehicle. I drive a Subaru outback, so no trunk. I will keep the ammo separate and I am planning on putting a blanket over them, so they are out of sight in case I am pulled over for some odd reason.

Am I missing anything?

Yes. The ammo does NOT have to be separate from the guns, but MUST be separated from the occupants of the vehicle, so it is best to lock the ammo in the cases as well.

I may be wrong about this (its happened before :)), but if I remember correctly Jersey has some kind of ban on hollow points or certain types of ammo, and fines you a 4 digit amount of money per bullet if they catch you.

Look it up yourself to be sure you're in the right. Or only pack FMJ.

I'd start with google, or possibly handgunlaw.us
