I know there's other threads about this movie, but I decided to start a new thread so my post won't get buried in the **** storm surrounding the politics of Wahlberg and Glover.
I just wanted to point out that the remote-operated sniper system they used to shoot the Bishop is real - I know because I have one in my office. It's called the TRAP (Telepresent Rapid Aiming Platform) and the web address given in the movie is for the real company that makes the system:
http://www.precisionremotes.com
You've probably seen the remote controlled SWORDS robot on TV - it looks like a tiny tank with treads and a gun. What never gets mentioned is that the weapon on SWORDS is it's own system, the TRAP. It can be mounted on vehicles or used solo on a tripod.
I read through the other threads and didn't see anyone talking about the "robot" so I thought this post might be appropriate.
