I'm leaning towards a Roscoe barrel for my latest upper. However, I don't know if the Purebred line in stainless would be more appropriate than the Bloodline product line. I believe the Bloodline barrels are nitrided, while the Purebred are 416R stainless. It's an upper/rifle loosely based on the URG-I, except I'm using a 16" barrel to remove NFA issues. I'm after a little better accuracy over my PSA 16" nitrided upper, and plan to run 69-77 grain bullets from the new barrel. I shoot fairly frequently but don't tend to run a high round count per session, often running less than 30 rounds per trip through any given rifle. Given the relatively low volume, would a stainless barrel suffer from a lack of durability? My research leads me to think stainless barrels are generally more accurate, but will have a reduced round count before accuracy degrades enough to warrant a new barrel. I'd say I generally run about 1,000 rifle rounds per year, but that includes 308, 30-30, and 223. I also generally run my hand loads to 223 specs, albeit at the upper limit of those specs.
