My wife has a Rossi M88 .38 sp. stainless, 2" barrel that I bought new. Very low round count. My question is, she wants to sell it and I'm not sure of a value. We will probably replace it with a S&W .38 that belonged to my father. If anyone has experience with this gun or info I would appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance.

Depending on where you are located, you might get $250. Believe it or not, there are some real Rossi fans out there. (I'm one of them, in fact.)

The Interarms-era Rossis have actually developed a following. Not a huge following, but a fan club.

I'm in the DFW area, and if I came across a really nice Rossi 88 at $250, I'd be tempted to add it to my collection.

I bought a really nice example at Cabela's Library for $283 + tax. As long as it bears an Interarms stamp, I respect it as a first rate gun. I have two 851s and a 971VRC, all Interarms era. For a snub, I found it surprisingly heavy, since I was already used to a S&W 637 Wyatt Deep Cover, which I believe is the lightweight frame (scandium?). That Rossi weight pays off when it has to be fired.
