My Dad inherited a Winchester Model 12 12ga serial number 261XXX. The gun is in relatively good condition and appears to have been used very little. Blueing is intact and the gun is unmodified. In fact, the gun has what I believe to be the original wooden cleaning rods and attachments. It also has the original canvas case although that is definately seen better days. Anyways, just looking for what the ballpark range is for this model/year gun.

Thanks,
Mark

Much depends on the original grade of the gun and its current condition, it's nigh impossible to offer an estimate without knowing more. And prices are often a local thing, too. For a standard take-down field grade gun, around here, it would run $325- 400 or so as you describe. Check some of the firearms auction sites like GunsAmerica or Gunbroker for similar items to get a better idea of price, and consult with firearms dealers in your area.

Welcome aboard,Mark. Like Lee said, values are all over the place. A field grade 12 gauge in close to new condition with original bag and cleaning rod, best guess $400-600. However....

Keep it. It's part of your heritage as well as one of the best shotguns yet made.

These guys are right! I hope you are wanting to know the value just for curiousity sake because a Model 12 is one gun that you will always regret selling, besides the fact that it is an heirloom. You are going to love shooting it!!:D

$400 to $600 depending on condition, etc
Best guess

They shoot really well, take it shooting, then see if you want to sell it.
