These questions are directed to people familiar with the AC556 and NFA firearms in general.

Will Ruger do factory work on these rifles?

What part is the registered part?

What is the general opinion on these?

What is a good price?

Will I feel like Mr. T or Hannibal Smith when I fire one?

I cannot help you; I knew nothing about the AC556 when I got here. The only thing I know now is I want one of these.

Ruger absolutely works on "civilian" owned AC556's.

The registered part is the receiver itself. As with the Mini, Ruger isn't very good about selling spare parts, but they do work on them.

They are great little guns, a nice way to enter the nfa world at a reasonable price.

The last time I saw one actually sell it was around $6000 but it was a really nice one. I have seen then anywhere from 4500-6000 over the last few years.

You won't feel like Hannibal Smith, the A-Team guns were all semi :)

I have been in the market for one for a while, I just haven't run across exactly what I want yet.

Nice thing is they seem to be plentiful in the market. Bad thing is lots of them are "hacked up" from factory original. That's not necessarily bad, depending on what you want, but I've been trying to find a really nice folder in factory condition, like maskedman shows in his post here. For whatever reason most of the ones I've seen have been messed with in one way or another.

I saw a stainless one in mint condition for sale a month or so ago but the guy wanted 7k and I personally think that's too high for this type of gun. Dunno.

get a 22 conversion kit if you buy one. the only problem you might encounter is needing a new barrel. the folder is nice but when firing in full that metal tubing hitting your cheakbone is a little uncomfortable.

Are you sure? I thought I remembered the A-Team spraying bullets everywhere, and no one ever getting shot.

They were felons if I remember right weren't they? Yet "law abiding" to some extent.

Criminals of some kind, been too long now.

IMFDB says semi:

Contrary to popular belief, these were not the fully automatic versions of the Ruger Mini 14, the Ruger AC556 rifles, but the Semi auto only Ruger Mini 14 GBs with folding stocks. Close examination of the show reveals that the actors are pulling the triggers quickly and only a few spent brass casing as flying out, despite the sound effects of full auto fire.

But you still need a real one :)
