I know that the standard Ruger Charger is not allowed in NY state because it meets the criteria on having a detachable magazine and it also weighs more than 50 oz.

I suspect that the wood stock on the gun adds to the weight. I am wondering if I can get the weight below the 50 oz by putting on a replacement synthetic stock.

I have found a Knoxx axiom stock for the Ruger charger.

Does anyone know what the standard stock weighs and/or what the Knoxx Axiom stock weighs?

Thanks

Putting on a carbon fiber barrel is also a possibility. Are there any opinions about whether it would be legal in NY state if you got the weight below 50 oz?

No charger in California either. It's classified as an assault weapon. Pretty laughable. If NY is anything like California, it isn't the details the lawmakers/enforcement are interested in, they just don't want certain guns to be available. I wouldn't want to be the test case......

Thanx, Russ
