I was shooting a brand new LCR. It has 10 rounds through the barrel and 30 minutes of dry-firing. I noticed the internal hammer has a metalic rattle, like something is loose.

Is this normal for LCR's and I just didn't notice it when I fondled it at the counter, or is this something I should contact Ruger to have it repaired?

I know nothing about gunsmithing in terms of diagnostics or fixing myself.

Go back to the store & see if they have another LCR.
Does it have the same sound?

If yes, talk to the people there to see if that's normal.
If no, then you probably need to contact Ruger.

I wouldn't fire it anymore until I checked it out, just in case.

Please update this thread as you find things out.
That'll help others.

Good Luck

Thanks.I did a quick search and didn't see it....there a lot of threads about LCR's :)

Here come the next 1000 rounds :neener:

Rugers are built with a loose transfer bar on revolvers, it's supposed to rattle. Some do it more than others.

LCR

Annoying and 100% normal. Ruger even addresses it under FAQ on their website.

Shoot away!
