Any of you guys own a Ruger Mark I air pistol ?
I picked one up at Uncle Wally's some months back and I'm not satisfied with it at all.
Mostly problems with the sights.
I found that to hold some sort of zero, I must pay attention to keeping the screws tight. This is in spite of lock washers and ny-lock screws.
Seems like I'm getting there though.

I tried one too but was very disappointed with it. Usually I like the challenge to make something work better, but I have to like it or think it has hope before I'll put that effort in. Aside from the many problems and low quality, a break barrel design has to be long to work so it's really only for rifles, As you noticed it's huge to get it to work, like 18" or something redonkulous. Not really a pistol anymore now is it, more like a mini rifle. The only cheap air pistol I've ever liked is the Beeman P17, which is actually pretty cool. My fav springer pistol is the Webley Tempest, but unlike the Ruger it's an over-barrel setup which is way more compact. Plus the Tempest is much better made, but also expensive. Other cool pistols like Weihrauch are even more $. If you want more power than a P17 or Tempest then I suppose the Crosman 13xx is an option but it's still a bit long and the pumping kills it for me but it is better and more powerful than the Ruger. So all my break barrels are rifles, and the P17 and Tempest are used 100-1 compared to my 1377 and 1322 because of ease of use and size. The P17 is also extremely light and so cheap it's hard to go wrong. It's very accurate too.
