Ruger old & new ?

I have an old lower from a Ruger pistol that used to have an upper with the 101### number on the barrel [ the Ruger semi auto is the ONLY handgun that I know that has the only serial # on the upper ].

Does anyone know if that lower can be mated to a Mark III upper as I have a serial # upper barrel that is for the newer 22/45,and I was hoping they would match ?.

It would be a new gun that is already on my permit as I have the upper registered as a firearm on my CCW.
