What would be a fair price for this wheel gun? It's the blued version with wood grips and it's in real good shape.

You can probably get as high as 450 depending on the condition. What barrel length is it? The shorter barrel ones tend to get more than 450.

I guess it depends where you are, I see them for less than $400. Around my area, Mississippi & Texas, maybe $400 for excellent, $350good, 300 fair-good.

A year ago, I would have told you that I regularly see SS 4" Security and Service/Police sixes for $275-300 at local gun shows. Recently their price has risen dramatically! If you put it up for sale on gunbroker/auctionarms/gunsamerica $400+ is not out of the question. If it is a 2.75" or 4" Speed Six (roundbutt)...they command the highest price.

The few that I see are usually in the $400 to $450 price range, assuming very good condition.

Its all about what you, and the next guy is willing to pay. Its my belief (right now) that you cannot find anything worthy of having for less than 400. At that price it won't be a Smith for certain, here in my area. Not to say that you can't find a good deal, they are out there if you look around.

I passed on a 2.75" Security Six about this time last year. It was priced at 300. Just last week I saw another one that was priced to me for 400 OTD. Its in tthe safe, I plan on firing it today. Its going to be in the 70's - Hot Dayum!

But in my opinion 450 is a bit pricey, for that model and brand.

I bought a used one last week for $250 which included a Don Hume Holster. It was filthy but I could see the diamond in the rough. It cleaned up nicely and I love the way it fits my hand.

Great pistols. A great value these days. I'd go $300 to $350 if it is in great shape. On GB you see them go cheap, and high. No guessing what will happen on GB.
