Ive been thinking of reloading lead round nose for my SR45. I would like to know if anyone has had good results or any issues with cast LRN [feeding, leading, ect.] in this particular gun.
Not with that specific gun but many others in 45 and all other calibers. It shouldn't be any different. As with any barrel fit is important and lead hardness also. I shoot Missouri Bullets in my 45's and they work just fine. Many other brands out there also. Feeding will depend on you OAL so do the plunk test with your barrel. (it's a 1911 barrel but the idea is the same)
Feeding the LRN shouldn't be an issue as long as you fit the COL for your gun. If you're loading store bought cast then leading also shouldn't be a problem.
My Ruger happily digests loads made with Lyman's 200 SWC that I size to .452". My 1911 is somewhat more fussy. Won't feed properly with out taper crimping.
